When Veggies Look-Alike: Find the Fungi!

by

My infographic on, When veggies look-alike, but are they?

St. Hildegard wrote extensively on health and how it relates to plants in nature. Her insights were not only gained from local knowledge but also from visions from God.

Taking two foods as examples of healthy eating, I also indicate what Hildegard thought of them. They are cauliflower and mushrooms. I recently discovered lion’s mane being sold fresh in my supermarket. I’ve sautéed them a few times already because they made me feel so good after eating them. And as my infographic shows, they are good for gut health, and that’s good for the brain. They are connected.

As Hildegard wrote, there are four humors that determine either sickness or good health. They are phlegm, blood and yellow and black bile. The humors circulate through the body and when in balance the person has good health and happy emotions.

A healthy gut equals a happy brain.

But I also noted how lion’s mane looks similar to cauliflower. And that inspired this post and the infographic. Although Hildegard mentions that cauliflower can increase rather than decrease bad humors. Maybe the mix of the two can help with that, although this is not medical advice.

Take care when deciding on introducing new foods into your diet. Your doctor or nutritionist know best. Always consult with the professionals. This post is for informational purposes only.

You can play Find the Fungi! at home, even if you don’t eat them. Which piece is a fungi and which piece is a cauliflower floret? Enjoy!
